About The Glengarry Living Archive
The Glengarry Living Archives database system stores documents and historical information that community members wish to share. Copies will be scanned and will be accessible through this website, and will allow for easy access.
This may be used by visitors wishing to do genealogy and historical research and will be a handy and unique tool. This falls into a plan that will significantly benefit future visitors to the Williamstown area.
The Glengarry Living Archives supports the Williamstown annual cultural charity social concert. The profits are to be donated to a charitable organization. In 2018 the Williamstown Social profits were donated to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
The mission of the Williamstown and Glengarry Living Archives is to preserve and promote the history and cultural heritage of the community through the collection, conservation, and sharing of online archival documents. We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive space for community members to explore, discover, and celebrate their shared history. By engaging with diverse perspectives and experiences, we seek to foster a sense of pride and connectedness among community members while promoting education and research on the history of our region. Through our efforts, we aim to ensure that the rich legacy of the Williamstown and Glengarry communities is preserved for future generations to enjoy and learn from.
